Do you have any idea what the suffix signifies, that seems that seem's like a logical thing to considerI have seen similar reports about the TL-SG105S not working with certain device combinations and avoided buying it, I got the TP-Link "D" suffix models instead.
On one occasion I had a problem which could present similar symptoms, it was a long time ago and I can't remember the exact details but I'd disconnected a number of things from the network, when I plugged everything back in the network wasn't happening. Eventually I discovered it was one device flooding the network.
Have a look with wireshark to see if any heavy or unusual traffic is visible.
