Yes, I have seen this working on the Raspberry Pi, but I can't remember from which version the update was. Possibly the file is only touched if the new kernel (or any other updated module) contains security relevant fixes.I believe this used to work (on the RPi)... By the way, what is an "Ansible playbook" ?
Ansible is an automation tool. It helps me in setting up a fresh Raspberry Pi or VM, i.e. update, install zsh, download fonts etc. At the same time it updates all other running machines in my network. The "playbook" describes the desired target state of the machines.
