Not sure if this is the right place.
I don't normally do updates but did notice there was 82 updates waiting this morning. I decided to auto update everything and now VLC crashes with HEVC video (auto exits as soon as double click on file). AVC content still plays. VLC was working ok prior to the update.
I tried uninstalling and reinstalling VLC and also resetting preferences.

Got it working by selecting disable hardware decoding but audio is not quite in sync. It has been on automatic up to now.
