I think this is probably a case of try and see what you can achieve. The object size does sound a bit small, you can mitigate this by running the sensor at full resolution instead of binned - but you then reduce your framerate to 10fps.
You can also fully control the region of interest where the inferencing will occur in the image, so you might be able to run at 1080p30, and move the ROI window over successive frames to get the desired results.
