The 16k pagesize issue was fixed many months ago. You will have the fix on an up to date (using apt) bookworm image. If it's read-only, you shouldn't be able to write to it at all. However, I have a question about this, is it fixed now?
You may need to run chkdsk on a windows machine if an ntfs drive has been removed uncleanly (i.e. unplugged or powered off without a proper eject/shutdown).
If it is marked as dirty, then linux will mount it as read-only.
I have now tested. Looks like it works now. Latest OS "July 4th 2024" without updates does not work. You have to update for that. Would be great with an updated OS build for offline use as well. But at least it works!
