Thanks for the explanation. There is no legacy audio firmware driver on Pi5 (it lives in start*.elf, which doesn't exist on Pi5).Question: does the line 'dtparam=audio=on', when present on the Pi 5, enable the old firmware-based audio driver, or is there a new ARM-side driver for the audio on Pi 5? The reason I ask is that it was previously mentioned that the Pi 5 firmware does away with the RTOS used on previous models, and is just a simple polling loop instead.
As such, dtparam=audio=on is not an option.
