The problem description suggests a hardware failure as the failing keys are consecutive key sequences.

If you are really curious to determine what has failed, examine the key code for the failing keys to find the commonality.

However, I suggest purchasing a new keyboard because if you find out what is wrong, the repair costs will exceed the purchase price.
