The whole debug/tracing system is structured like a layered network, quite complex, but manageable if approached piece by piece, like a puzzle, not just to do everything in one shot, divide et impera. There's more to dig, and discover, but so far is working.
BTW what do you intend to use as a front-end, something like Segger SystemView ?
