I'm using a TV Hat on a Pi Zero 2W, latest headless Bookworm (Raspbian 1:6.6.62-1+rpt1 (2024-11-25)) tvheadend version 4.3-2155, both installed today.
If I try to watch live TV in a browser window served by the Pi (webtv-vp8 profile), tvheadend hits 200% CPU, which I believe is expected, my problem is that when I stream to VLC media player (3.0.21 Vetinari) on another machine over my LAN, "pass" profile, all of the streams are pretty much unusable: there is more than 50% break-up, even on radio stations, where there is no video to worry about. The tvheadend CPU load on the Pi Zero 2W in this case is just a few percent but the quality of the rendered stream is actually worse than in the browser-window-served-by-the-Pi case.
The stream from the Pi is coming over Wifi, with the Pi Zero 2W in the same room as the Wifi router, so Wifi signal strength shouldn't be an issue. tvheadend is at default settings for everything. Source TV signal strength/quality is fine (-45 dBm signal strength, SNR 26 dB). I regularly stream high quality audio over the same network so LAN bandwidth _shouldn't_ be an issue.
Are there any network-related settings in the Pi Zero 2W, or in tvheadend, that I should be tuning?
