your doing it wrong
on rpi most of the time it's interference from wifi/bluetooth & usb dongle, the fix is to use an extension/hub to move it away from the rpi a bit
X11 is still on it's way out, but has already been planed not to even offer the option in the future, at the pace linux moves this may come sooner then expected
i don't compare devices or arm64 vs x86, everything has it's quirks and usually just learning to work with them.
