It should be easy for you.

But this is the secret of preheating the pad and the pin:

Holding the tip on the pad and the pin simultaneously for about a second, then adding solder for a very short time (maybe another second) to make the joint is something you will have to get the hang of.

But don't put the solder on the tip (besides keeping it wet), just between the pad and the pin, and if properly preheated, the solder will melt and flow exactly where is needed, otherwise you might end with an ugly cold joint.
