Haven't used geekbench previously, but will fire up some testing.
Though the problem is with NVMe do your 16GB and 8GB models have different performance for GeekBench 5 and 6?
Also, there may be a typo in date of the EEPROM version reported in that thread. If so, then Jan 13 is more recent than Jan 8.
I did notice that the last reply in that other thread had a date from a year ago for the firmware and figured that was wrong, but TBH I'm not sure where to locate bleeding edge ready-to-blast eeprom bits.
