Just doesn't work. I tried many methods but the RPiOS boots normally and nothing happens... like the script just doesn't launch... And if I launch it manually, I got an error "GPIO busy"... like the script is waiting for button press but doesn't launch VLC...Perhaps your try
sudo nano /etc/xdg/lxsession/LXDE-pi/autostart
and add
@python3 /home/pi/myproject.py
save and reboot.
