I was thinking more the custom "makers" who are powering it themselves using quality generic PSUs and they're not all experts in power design..doesnt the CM4IO and CM5IO accept 12? to deal with pcie powerWhy are the CM5 people not seeing problems? Not every setup can use the really nice PSU
that would imply it has its own 5v regulator
so any time the PSU sucks and the voltage wavers, the regulator .... regulates it!
(please confirm in the schematics before actually giving it 12v)
Is it the PMIC used on the Pi boards that is more sensitive to a slight drop than the Pi itself actually needs.
Just questions as I just use the official one, as it good for other things to.
But it is built to a budget, it has to be to be as cheap as it is.
Edit the CM5 IO board is USB-C 5V powered, not 12V capable.
