Official Display • Raspberry Pi Official 15,6 Monitor Problems with HDMI

Hello,

this is my first post in this forum - hopefully someone can help with my issue (maybe a bug in the monitor software?).

First of all: The monitor works with all my raspberry Pi computers & HDMI, not problem.

But:

I does NOT work if I use a Raspberry Pi Pico 2 with an DVI (HDMI) Breakout Board from Adafruit. The Pico2 is flashed with MMBASIC, this is
a firmware, of an modern BASIC Interpreter with HDMI support & lots and lots other cool stuff. From this BASIC Interpreter you can do graphics, audio, GPIO manipulation and audio-output as well as mouse and keyboard support. It is a stand-alone-computer.

This mentioned setup works on every monitor and even TV, but NOT on the Raspberry Pi official 15,6" monitor, which is weird...
I had hope that this could be something with the Adafruit DVI Breakoutboard, since it (per default) does not support hotplugging.

So I added this hotplugging feature to the DVI Board:

The Adafruit DVI breakout-board (per default) does not pull up PIN 19 of the (physical) HDMI connector via a pullup to 5V. So I added a 10k pullup for Hotplugging onto the breakout board and verified the proper function via measuring. Also I am supplying additional 5V+ via a Schottky Diode to the DVI breakout board (since this seems to be needed for hotplugging). But this doesn't work either.

But all my attempts don't work and the monitor stays black (but with backlight on!). I also tried different cables etc. But it MUST be the monitor since the SAME setup works on all my other monitors and even TV.... only the Raspberry Pi Monitor stays black.

Is there any special sequences the monitor wants to "see"?

Greetings
Daniel
