Well... what I went through is quite interesting: running both cores is really powerful, the two processes go well, side by side but without influencing each other. The problem, the hard one, consist in stopping the _thread... no way... I tried eve sys.exit() with no luck, after tryingCorrection; I've NEVER run both cores. Bad typo. Good luck.
_thread.exit() of course.
The resulting situation is that the PICO became unusable: the led is locked on a reddish color and both VS Code and Thonny cannot access the board. The only solution is to "nuke" (flash_nuke.uf2) the flash memory and start again.
