The "dimming" that you describe sounds like a PS issue. What power supply are you using?

Is it one of these?

If not; It would be worth getting one as a huge amount of problems on here are caused by non standard power supplies.

A temperature of 51 Degrees should not be an issue. My Pi5s sit around that all the time.

You say..."If that chip that is getting hot is for WiFi, the Pi has been set up as a WiFi Access Point would that cause it"

Are you trying to connect to Wifi Nodes that are outside your shed? That is to say; are the devices that are any devices that are connecting to it inside or outside the shed?

I would expect that to cause you issues as the metal structure of the shed will greatly impede your WiFi connectivity. In that case; the Wifi chip may well get very hot as it works very hard to overcome the transmission problems.

"Guess it just can't handle large amounts of stuff loading in a tab coming all at once."

I doubt that is the issue as a screen full of code is nothing like the amount of data that playing sound or video would be....and that works fine. Does it do the same with another browser...Chromium for example?
