1. I'm out for providing FOC support for commercial products
2. If your commercial product relies on waveshare then it's your decision
3. CM5IO is a development platform and not to be considered for a commercial product --> totally out of scope (and in the end doesn't matter why is does not work)

--> develop your own baseboard, waveshare schematic is open source. Should work as well then.
The product which i am designing for is using a compute module 4 with a custom io board. We are trying to develop a version of the custom io board for cm5 support which is going fine. the new and old custom io boards have a usb-c connection connected to the usb otg ports. you cant connect this directly to a m1 and m2 mac and it needs an adapter. This also counts for the raspberry pi 5 and the CM5IO board. We ordered a waveshare POE base a board at the same time as the CM5io board to see what they used for the usb2.0 hub and just for general usage when developing the software side. When testing we randomly tried it with the waveshare board and it works when connecting directly via usb c-c with m1 and m2 macs. So this isn't our custom io board specific issue and also an issue with raspberry pi. When looking at the waveshare board the only difference is the 0 ohm resistors on the d+ and d- lines and the general power management of the board connected to the usb c port.

So this isn't an isolated issue from us but also one from raspberry themselves. I have tried to get into contact with waveshare about how they fixed this issue but they havent responded
