Yes I do

After doing the installation (using apt):

mysqladmin refresh

In mysql (mysql -uroot)...
CREATE USER <user> IDENTIFIED BY '<password>';
User is in the format: '<user-name>'@'host-name' where hostname is localhost

GRANT ALL ON *.* to '<username>'@'localhost';

There is a lot of good data online that you can look up, such as one of the (at least for Pis) more esoteric things like replicated databases.
