Your first post is not based on sound reasoning. The RPi4B worked for weeks so why would the bootloader version be responsible for it not working now? No released bootloader version has ever been the cause of a 4B not booting.The issue with the Raspberry Pi 4 not booting from an SSD could be related to the bootloader version. Ensure your Pi's bootloader is updated to the latest version by running sudo rpi-eeprom-update and then sudo rpi-eeprom-update -a to apply any available updates. Also, neither of the two posters with the problem mentioned anything about an SSD or USB booting.
