I am brand new to the world of hardware and I am trying to understand how to connect sensors to the GPIO on the Raspberry Pi.

I got this MH-Z19 CO2 sensor

I just did a quick search for MH-Z19 Raspberry Pi, and the top link that came up for me was "How to measure CO₂ using the MH-Z19B sensor and a Raspberry Pi". The MHZ-19B is an updated version of the MHZ-19 and if you zoom into the picture at your original link, although it is listed as an MHZ-19, it says on the side MHZ-19B so they are the same.
