Hello,
I’m experiencing an issue with my Raspberry Pi 4B (4GB version). When I power it on, the red LED turns on, and the green LED blinks for a brief moment, indicating the boot process begins. However, after just a few seconds (typically 3 seconds, but sometimes longer if left unplugged for a while), the Raspberry Pi turns off. The red LED stays on, but the green LED stops blinking, and the system completely powers down.
Interestingly, if I leave the Raspberry Pi off for some time and then power it on again, it stays on slightly longer before turning off, but it still never stays on for more than 10-15 seconds at most. The longer I let the Raspberry unplugged, the longer it takes to shut down. The HDMI display never detects the signal because the system shuts down too quickly, I could barely get signal for a few seconds when I let the Raspberry Pi idle for a whole night, and that confirmed me that the Raspberry is booting properly, because I could see the splash screen and few logs from Raspbian..
I’ve already:
•Tried different microSD cards with freshly written Raspberry Pi OS images (using Raspberry Pi Imager and Rufus).
•Used a proper 5V 3A power supply, tried many.
•Left the system with no peripherals connected (only power and microSD).
The Raspberry Pi does seem to boot properly initially but always powers down shortly afterward. I’ve read about potential EEPROM issues, and I’ve already tried to recover the bootloader using the recommended steps, but the issue remains. Fun fact: if I insert the SD with the EEPROM fixer, it will also shut down after some seconds (luckily the eeprom recovered before shutting down)
Has anyone encountered a similar issue? Could this be related to the power supply, a hardware fault, or something else? Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you in advance for your help.
