I got a new camera from Waveshare that works consistently at least. It works fine on the RPi5 with no parameters specified in the "dtoverlay=imx415 " line. When I try it on the RPi4 I get pretty much the same as before with either no cameras detected or the black window. There is one combination of clock and link frequency parameters that gave me something on the RPi4. "dtoverlay=imx415,clock-frequency=37125000,link-frequency=445500000" gives me a screen of horizontal line junk at 30.0 fps.
From the talk above, it appears that maybe it doesn't work quite right on the RPi4 yet so I'm not sure what I have. I Iunder stand this is kind of a back burner project for you.
