That's always possible but I have never found it to be the case. It's usually something much simpler though not always easy to determine what.
Like most of us, once someone has convinced themselves that what they have is correct, it's hard to convince them otherwise. The more one looks at it the more convincing it becomes. That's why I always recommend a break, take a stroll around the block, give time to allow other possibilities to enter arena.
Getting away from it for long enough to allow starting again from first principles, getting off past paths and beliefs, has usually worked for me when I have been really flummoxed.
