good evening.
i'm having an issue with my usb network adapter on a pi 5 with 2gb of memory.
i have been using the external adapter for over a year with no issue as my pi is in a metal case and that has adversely affected both wi-fi and bluetooth communications.
i have just formatted and imaged a sd card with the current version of the raspberry pi o/s 64-bit. i added the statement to disable the onboard wi-fi adapter, placed it into the pi and powered it on. i was able to connect to my local wi-fi network and do a full-update without any issue. after completing the updates i was still able to open webpages in the browser before rebooting the pi.
after rebooting i am now getting a message of 'no network devices available' when i click on the wi-fi icon on the taskbar.
a search of this forum shows several occurrences of this wi-fi chip but the most recent post is over 2 years old.
any suggestions?
thank you for your support
