I was adding, hiding, deleting, and making items in various menu directories using menulibre quite nicely. I deleted a few items from one directory. An odd thing happened: for a spell the name of the folder I was deleting items from ("Sound and Video") had its name changed to one of the deleted item's names.
When I changed directory in menulibre, then it went gazoo: Now the Menu only shows a few folders and launcher items in both the menu and menulibre. Three of my launcher bar items disappeared. Under launcher bar preferences, I can see all the items again, however, I cannot "add" those items which have been disappeared. I tried removing and replacing both LXPanel's menu and launcher bar. Nothing.
So I suspect a config file for a menu directory or launcher has been corrupted, and LXPanel is only able to show my personally made directories in ~./local/applications and launchers plus a few from /usr/share/applications for some reason. I have no idea where to look for this corruption.
Where are the panel trees stored? Where might I fix this and how? I have a feeling it is trivial to fix
, but I've never yet found the full menu tree and don't know if it's one of the launcher items which is corrupted somehow. Thanks for any help!
Edit: X11 with Openbox, not Wayland, sorry, forgot to mention.
Edit: Tried deleting and reinstalling lxpanel menu in synaptic, no dice. Tried deleting and reinstalling ~/.local/share/applications. No joy. It seems to be whatever conf or ini file tells where menu launcher items should be has a bad record. Whererever that is, whatever it is.
Edit: Tried reinstalling all of lxpanel and associated gewgaws per https://forum.lxde.org/viewtopic.php?p= ... red#p50720
Nothing.
