I read the link, but my issue is a bit different.
I want to test the onboard RTC function.
However, when the board's power is removed, the RTC does not operate.

Is your backup battery installed correctly? Is it empty?

You could put a multimeter onto the PCB to verify that power is getting from the battery to the CM5 itself (VBAT, pin 76).
