My Pi-zero-W has been working away flawlessly hosting a mqtt broker and a few simple node red flows and i have forgotten to apply any maintenance/updates to the system in years.. - No Release File found ;(

Last time there were a couple of gotcha's lurking behind the 'vanilla pi' guides requiring an earlier build of node red and something else? due to the OS limitations on the pi-0?? My brief glance over google responses isnt highlighting anything atm.

Anything i should be aware of if i attempt a rebuild with the latest os, and node-red, mosquitto builds for an old Pi-0-w?

Thanks in advance.
The release file may have moved. If you change the entries in /etc/apt/sources.list you may be able to update and install more packages.

My experience is the latest Raspberry Pi OS includes some packages compiled for ARMv7. Since the Zero is ARMv6 those won't work.

If the Pi has been running from the same SD card for years I'd recommend getting a new card for the new operating system. Installing an OS writes a lot of data and you may want to keep the old card around as a configuration reference.
