Troubleshooting • Raspberry Pi 5 stuck on U-boot logo

I'm trying to boot a Raspberry Pi 5 (4GB) with U-Boot, but it always hangs at the U-Boot logo — a black splash screen with the logo in the top-right corner.
I know rpi5 isn't officially supported yet according to the U-Boot documentation, but since initial support landed in 2024.04, I’m guess someone has made it work. I've tried various u-boot versions; 2024.04, 2025.04, the master branch, and some raspberrypi branch. I've been using the rpi_arm64_defconfig, and also tried explicitly setting bcm2712-rpi-5-b. I use an SD card, and just for my sanity I've also tried a second rpi5 and a different SD card -- same result. I am trying to use the latest arm64 bookworm (2024-11-19), but I've also tried older Bookworm releases. Unfortunately, I don’t have any logs yet (waiting on a uart connector), so I can't provide any logs ATM

I see that this or something similar has been reported earlier, but most of it seems to be early last year (?). Does anyone have any idea of what's going on?
