Thanks, that's worked to get the bluetooth headphones working but unfortunately I'm getting irrecoverable screen freezes when switching from radio to audio files now. The issue goes away once bluetooth is switched off.

The file becomes pretty complicated in this case and I cannot guarantee that it will work.
You can try to replace the line:
slave.pcm "plughw:1,0"
by
slave.pcm "my-bluealsa-device";
and add that definition for the 'my-bluealsa-device':
That should theoretically redirect the signal to your BT device. So the whole file will look like this (specify the MAC address of your BT device accordingly):
I've noticed as well that when I use the radio on Peppy , the audio quality is actually quite good. However, when I listen to an mp3 (320 kbps rip), it sounds like a really poor 128k rip. Is there a codec issue for mp3s over bluetooth?
