Hello,

Briefly : I connect a CM5 to a Pi5 or PC main development host, run rpiboot (freshly compiled) and nothing happens. rpiboot is endlessly waiting.

Details. I use this USB cable, recently bought. No mention of OTG there :

On the CM5, the disable eMMC jumper is in place, since a few days at that. The power supply is a 27 watts RPi supply bought with the CM5. On both the Pi5 and PC host, lsblk does not show anything new with the CM5 connected. There is no USB hubs, only a direct connection. On both the PC and Pi5 I also tried the USB 2.0 ports : same result. The CM5 module is flat in its connector to the IO board. It is identified as 2025 R5. It has 16 GB RAM and 64 GB eMMC. No PCIe device is connected.I went through the troubleshooting section of rpiboot/usbboot. The power light lights up when there's power.

Should lsblk report a new device once the CM5 is connected with the eMMC disable jumper in place ?

Is a USB OTG cable mandatory ? If so, after browsing a few pages on amazon, there seems to be no USB male to USB male OTG cable. All are adapters of some sort, all with a female USB plug and male variants of other USB connectors.
