All prior classic/flagship Raspberry Pi single board computers are still supported by the current recommended Raspberry Pi Operating System.
You don't have a HAT in this case.
If you are dependent on the supplier of an add-on for software to use it then you are certainly at risk of that supplier/developer losing interest/motivation/profit-motive and ceasing to provide support for it. Obsolescence is not inevitable.
The maker's GitHub repository is still apparently online, so you can still download the 'frozen' software from 10 years ago from there rather than via apt. But that supporting software may not be trivially compatible with the current version of RasPiOS. A lot of progress has taken place in the intervening 10 years.
