Your computer keeps a local DNS cache of resolved host names, so the first time you try the name is looked up in your pihole, the resulting IP address is cached.Can I block a domain with pi hole or does it only block ads? The next time you try your computer already knows the IP address and does not lookup the hostname.
So either flush the DNS cache locally or restart your computer.
