I haven't updated to the latest display software, but from what I have read, they are both versions of Wayland, so if it is a problem with Wayland, updating the software probably won't help. It's worth a go though.
After editing the config file, I shutdown the Raspberry Pi (sudo shutdown -h now) and turned it on again. Is this the same as rebooting it (sudo reboot)?
I'll have a read of using the Raspberry Pi in Kiosk Mode (https://www.raspberrypi.com/tutorials/h ... iosk-mode/). Hopefully I can change settings instead of reinstalling the OS.
