Well plan B failed as well - with the same error!
Re-did the whole thing with Bullseye on a different microSD card .....
And tried to run it and got ..... "./fruitbox: error while loading shared libraries: libbcm_host.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory"
OK so I don't have a plan C
