Thanks, in /boot/firmware/cmdline.txt I entered: video=HDMI-A-1:1920x1080@60D.
Saved and rebooted and no changes, same 1024x768 with overly large text and wide black vertical borders on the left and right of the middle screen.
With those 1920x1080 settings I then tried the Preferences settings and selected the resolution from 1024x768 to 1920x1080 and working!
