I am running Armbian with Cinnamon on the Pi 5, I found this combination is particularly trouble to setup chinese input. I used Mint and even Ghostbsd with chinese input without problem. I mainly use SCIM and IBUS they both worked fine, but I couldn't make any of them worked on Armbian. I also tried Fcitix but the same story. I follow instruction from Ai search to trouble shoot things, for hours I couldn't get the way out, it just said missing this missing that and unable to something something....etc. So that I can understand the frustration of not being able to use chinese or non English on the system, and I hope someone that actually successfully setup Armbian with chinese input to shred some light, many thanks !
