Troubleshooting • Problem with nvme and raspberry 4b

I looked for information on this topic but I don't want to make a mistake, which is why I'm creating this post.

I have a Samsung PM9C1 MZ-VL85120 512GB M.2 NVMe drive lying around at home that I bought, and I decided to move it to my Raspberry Pi 4B, which I currently run from a 32GB SD card.

To do this, I read that I needed to buy a carry disk (external enclosure). I ended up buying one from a low-end brand in my country called Netmak, and after checking on my RPi4, I see that this carry disk uses the RTL9210 chip.

I put the SSD into the carry disk and plugged it into the RPi, turned it on, logged in via SSH, and cloned the disk. Everything was perfect so far. Checking the disk, it cloned correctly. I went into the advanced options config, set it to boot from USB first, and also chose LATEST in the boot options.

It finished cloning perfectly. I shut down the RPi4 with sudo poweroff, removed the SD card, and when I plugged it back in so it would boot from the SSD, I see that my RPi4's green LED blinks 3 or 4 times, does that, stops, and then repeats in a loop.

I've tried thousands of things: changing the boot wait time to 5 seconds in the config so it detects the disk, and more, but I can't get it to boot.

Looking at forums, they talk about a lack of power, or that the RTL9210 isn't suitable for the RPi.

What's the recommendation? I've requested a refund for this carry disk I bought, but I haven't sent it back yet. I don't know if I should try something else with this one, or just buy another carry disk or another SSD.
