No, I am not plugged into HDMI, I am using VNC to control my Raspberry Pi. I am unsure what I have done wrong. The wiring and connections seem alright, but if you find anything wrong with them, please let me know.
For the software configuration, I tried adding some device tree overlays in config.txt, which I just found on the internet, like dtoverlay=st7789v or dtoverlay=mipi-dbi-spi, but none of them worked, probably because I don't know their proper syntax and usage, and I might be missing something. Do I need to download some kind of firmware/driver before pasting anything in config.txt? What all do I need to write exactly in config.txt?
I am a complete beginner to such SPI displays, so what is the standard method of using them with a Raspberry Pi 5 currently? If what I tried was completely unrelated to the standard method, please give the instructions for the standard method.
