A thing they have suggested I o is try an older version of Pi OS. eg Bullseye or Buster.
I have tried installing Bullseye from here:

I download the image and copy to micro SD card via imager. But when I put the sd card into the Pi3, I only get the power light. No activity.
As I am typing this, I realise I am using a cheap SD card, could that be the problem somehow?
When I copy the image via imager, it verifies the copy happily.
