Hello,
config.txt documentation says:Linux console appears on /dev/AMA0 making it busy. In retrospect it appears I made the mistake to begin with and should not use enable_uart=1 option. But I want to know why this used to work. Was it a bug or an intentional change ?
config.txt documentation says:
I must have missed that, as I used the enable_uart=1 and console=serial0,115200 yet my Linux console was on /dev/AMA10 just like the bootrom and /dev/AMA0 (the GPIOs 14,15 uart) was free to use for other stuff. Suddenly on a new batch of boardsenable_uart=1 (in conjunction with console=serial0,115200 in cmdline.txt) requests that the kernel creates a serial console, accessible using GPIOs 14 and 15 (pins 8 and 10 on the 40-pin header). Editing cmdline.txt to remove the line quiet enables boot messages from the kernel to also appear there. See also uart_2ndstage.
