Raspberry Pi OS functions as expected when disconnecting a Pico.

Thanks for the update re Raspberry Pi OS and USB device count.

Have yet to try that. Pugging an RPi MCU into an RPi SBC running RPi OS and monitoring USB device count.

Will try that with an RPi Zero running RPi OS for completness at some point in the near future.

Would expect an RPi Zero running Ubuntu core to exhibit the same behaviour as on Dell laptop. Would be a further interesting test to consider. And if that did not exhibit the same USB count increment issue would indicate a likely Dell hardware or firmware issue. Notwithstanding the same issue having been reported elsewhere more than once and recognised as a Linux kernel defect in the past.
