It's probably tight-fisted makers one mostly has to worry about. Imagine if the Debug Probe firmware wasn't available for download, wasn't available for creating Pico Probe versions. Wouldn't you think about just extracting the firmware, uploading it to a Pico and saving yourself maybe 60% of the cost ?Are there any cases in the news where some firm got caught with a pilfered MCU firmware with anti-piracy measures such as this? Would be interesting to read of them.
