That did the trick! ... I created the ~/.asoundrc with the USB designated as the default device and it works with both speaker-test <no parameters> and EmulationStation/RetroArch without messing with audio output settings. Any idea what changed that seems to require this now after upgrading from Bookworm to Trixie?I believe ~/.asoundrc would be the usual place to configure this.
Only one "snag" ... something keeps removing the file! ... weirdest thing ever. It "disappeared" right after I first created it and now it seems to keep going away just to annoy me.
I haven't had time to diagnose exactly when it happens and ChatGPT seems to insist I'm doing something dumb - go figure.
Thoughts?
