How on earth did you get an eDP and HDMI-A-0 output from xrandr?
Looking at your original post, it looks like you probably have "dtparam=i2c_arm=on" in config.txt. Both I2C and DPI are therefore trying to claim GPIOs 2&3, and I2C won.
DPI claims almost all the GPIOs. You can't have I2C, SPI, or I2S enabled at the same time without very careful coordination.
