Should you wish to reduce the amount of work you need to do yourself you might want to look at Home Assistant. This has a cloud option, and the large range of temperature, humidity and other sensors and controllers available from pimoroni and thepihut for example. You might also wish to get something going with HA and a commercial sensor, then integrate your pico based ones into that tested system.
