Hello. I recently got one of these working with a Pico2W. I ordered 5 from AliExpress, spent forever not getting one to work, finally tried a second one which worked first time. So maybe I burned something out on the first one from my poor soldering, or maybe it was just DOA, but just saying, don't rule out faulty hardware, especially if it didn't come from a quality source.
Anyway, I got the code here working by matching my pin assignments:

Not sure the LRC, BCLK and DIN pins matter too much, but I'd disconnect your SD, at least to start with, unless you have a good reason to be forcing left channel only? This may help too:
