This is looking like the quickest, simplest option.
If I set up a virtual environment for python and a later version of kivy and fpdf2 , I can keep the old version as a backup.
I've been play with bullseye and kivy , these work ina DTE but kivy does not want to work without. It fails to get an X window, and I simply don't know enough about Linux to know why.
