Well, that is terrible!!!
Indeed, I don't think you should worry about losing your job to a Pi running AI.
Yet.

Something big is happening.

There is push towards AI server farms, lots of compute and huge power requirements for it.
Now a bunch of musicians are up in arms and I don't blame them, with Suno AI I can make music I like.
Is it any good, good enough for me but I am going deaf so no point being too fussy.

The visual images SD XL makes are good enough for my hobby use case and are basically free.
They still need tweaking, slicing and upscaling.
A decent paper roll Inkjet printer and I could make landscapes worth decorating my walls.
Not a big fan of this modernist spatter art.

Have I put any people out of jobs?
I mostly listen to YT vids these days, in the car I have an USB of mp3s ripped off my old CDROMs I got decades ago.

I don't go to the movies any more or watch TV, I refuse to pay to watch DEI propaganda.
Hmm, I should try AI to make my own movies, well maybe funny 4 secs TV commercials?

This to me looks like a trends towards making my own music, images, videos in the style I like.
As a part time creator with minimum talent in those areas this seems good for me.

What I don't get is why the big push for more compute, unless those in control also want to make their own music, images, vids and are convincing the Govs to finance it?
The big cost of that is profits for a few big companies and the super rich get much richer.

Or perhaps they want a robot workforce of slaves as depopulation shuts the system down.
I noticed ytbers jumped on AGI advances first but in the last week the lame stream media are now talking about the impending AI apocalypse.
I guess no one was interested in wars or aliens any more. So AGI and robots are now news.
I did my robotics in the 80-90s so this is old news for me.

Anyway, a part time career as Prompt Engineer might see out my twilight years.
Perhaps with looming depopulation they might release some cures, if I live long enough?
Sure are interesting times.
