I was told that the PI does not recognize it and hence I can use the usb_max_current_enable=1 option in /boot/config.txt to override the PD

That tells the Pi to expect up to 5A available, however the power supply is not in a 5V 5A mode so its not going to provide it.

Even though the power supply is capable of 67W it probably doesn't have a 5V 5A mode, very few power supplies do..

thanks for the info; do you think this could affect performances?
